 Description
   This is a coin case pouch featuring shinsen gumi Samurai shipped from Kyoto.
   
The Shinsengumi (meaning “the new squad”) was a special police force organized by the Bakufu (military government) during Japan’s Bakumatsu period (late shogun) in 1864. 
    It was founded to protect the Shogunate representatives in Kyoto.

   The members of the Shinsengumi were highly visible in battle due to their distinctive uniforms, called Happi coat.
   The motif of this coin case pouch is Shinsengumi Happi coat.
